How much do you know about air transport?

Aug 19, 2024

Air transport has won a considerable market with its high efficiency of being fast, safe, and punctual, greatly shortening the delivery time and playing a great role in promoting the capital turnover and circulation of the logistics supply chain. Major airlines have successively invested in a large number of flights to share the cargo transport cake. However, air transport is more expensive than sea transport and has high time requirements. The cost ratio of sea to air transport is about 1:10.
1. Eight elements of air transport inquiry:
1. Name of goods (whether it is dangerous goods),
2. Weight (involving charges), volume (size and whether it is bulk goods),
3. Packaging (whether it is a wooden box, with or without pallets)
4. Destination airport (whether it is a basic point),
5. Required time (direct flight or transfer flight),
6. Required flight (differences in services and prices of each flight),
7. Type of bill of lading (master bill and sub-bill)
8. Required transportation services (customs declaration method, agency documents, customs clearance, and delivery, etc.)
Air transport is divided into heavy goods and bulk goods. 1CBM=167KG Compare volumetric weight with actual weight, whichever is larger will be charged. Of course, there is a little secret in air freight, that should be known by colleagues, and it is not convenient to talk about it here. Manufacturers who don't understand can figure it out by themselves.
2. Composition of air freight structure
There are many people doing air freight. Do you know how the air freight price of airlines is calculated? A brief introduction, I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
Air freight rate composition:
1. Airfreight (charged by airlines)
2. Fuel surcharge (depending on the airport and the destination, the price is different. Hong Kong is generally around 4 yuan now, 3.6 yuan before, and 4.8 yuan last year. The price is adjusted by the airport. Generally, it is 2 yuan to Asia)
3. Security inspection fee (Hong Kong charges a 1 yuan/kg fixed fee)
4. Airport operation fee (Hong Kong is HKD283/ticket, the airport is responsible for transporting goods to the plane, etc.)
5. Terminal fee (1.72/kg when the goods are handed over to the dealer, the dealer is responsible for boarding and other things, and finally handed over to the airport to collect)
6. Air master bill fee HKD15/bl is the cost of issuing bills of lading---property certificate.
The above introduction is the composition of the cost calculation of most airlines, mainly Hong Kong Airport. Hong Kong is a super-large free trade port, and Hong Kong Airport is the largest airport in the world, with few restrictions, a wide range, and many cargo planes. There are 78 airlines. There are more than 100 flights every day. If the space and service are guaranteed, it can be the first choice. However, the cost is generally about 2 yuan higher than that in China!
3. Common air transport terms
1. ATA/ATD (Actual Time of Arrival / Actual Time of Departure)
The abbreviation of the actual arrival/departure time.
2. Airway bill (AWB) (AirWaybill)

10. CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freightage)
