Pallets, however, provide limited protection as the cargo is exposed and can be easily damaged in transit.
AKE containers are also considered more efficient when it comes to loading and unloading. They can be easily moved using forklifts or conveyor belt systems, and their rectangular shape allows them to fit snugly into the aircraft, maximizing the use of space. In contrast, pallets require manual loading and unloading, which can be time-consuming.
AKE containers are generally more expensive than pallets due to their sophisticated design and construction. However, they provide a higher level of security, making them ideal for transporting valuable or delicate cargo.
While both AKE containers and pallets are used to transport cargo in the aviation industry, they have significant differences in their construction, capacity, protection level, and handling. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on the nature of the cargo being transported, the level of protection required, and the efficiency needed in loading and unloading.
