Air Transport Support For The Lychee Season Was Successfully Completed

Since early summer in May, Hainan lychees have entered the peak season for production and sales. Given the characteristics of "fresh, urgent and fast" lychee transportation, Haikou Meilan International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Meilan Airport), a subsidiary of Hainan Holdings, has implemented a "time-divided and segmented collection and transportation" mechanism, added lychee air transportation lines, opened green security inspection channels and other measures to help "lychees" reach all parts of the country and completed the special air transportation guarantee work for the 2025 lychee season. According to statistics, from May 15 to June 16, Meilan Airport guaranteed a total of 5,667 tons of outbound lychees, a year-on-year increase of 164%. Among them, on June 8, Meilan Airport's single-day outbound cargo and mail volume exceeded 697 tons, setting a new record for single-day outbound cargo and mail volume. The cargo volume of lychees on that day accounted for about 50%

To ensure smooth transportation of litchi, Meilan Airport has formulated a special guarantee plan for litchi transportation in advance based on the four dimensions of "flights-cargo volume-equipment-manpower", established a special guarantee team, and quickly deployed guarantee resources. At the same time, to increase the belly cargo capacity of outbound flights, Meilan Airport actively coordinated with airlines and logistics companies to replace narrow-body aircraft with wide-body aircraft on popular routes such as Haikou to Beijing and Hangzhou, and cooperated with SF Airlines, JD Airlines, and Postal Airlines to expand all-cargo routes, and temporarily added litchi freight lines from Haikou to Shenzhen, Ezhou, Nanjing and other cities to ensure that Hainan litchi can be delivered to consumers across the country.
In addition, Meilan Airport opened the domestic East Cargo Terminal, forming a two-field operation mode of East and West Cargo Terminals, effectively expanding the collection and storage space of litchi, and adopted internal deployment, external support, flexible employment, and temporarily adding 10 tractors to greatly improve the efficiency of litchi transportation and ensure the efficient and smooth transportation chain.
