According to statistics from the Aviation Logistics Branch of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, China launched 21 new international air cargo routes in April alone. As of April 30, a total of 68 new international air freight routes had been opened nationwide in 2026, adding more than 160 round-trip flights per week.
In terms of route distribution, Europe accounted for 30 routes, followed by Asia with 27 routes, North America with 9 routes, South America with 1 route, and Africa with 1 route.
Regarding cargo categories, the newly added routes mainly serve:
- Cross-border e-commerce goods
- High-end manufacturing products
- High value-added cargo
- Fresh products and cold-chain goods
Cui Zhongfu stated that since last year, China's international air cargo network has continued to expand rapidly. The strong growth trend has remained steady in the first four months of 2026.
He noted that the increasing density of international air freight routes reflects not only the continuous improvement of China's global logistics channels, but also the strengthening resilience of China's supply chain and international trade connectivity.
