Kuayue Express Orders 60 W5000 Large Unmanned Cargo Aircraft

The W5000 large unmanned cargo aircraft manufactured by Beluga Airline offers many significant advantages. With a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 10.8 tons and a maximum payload of approximately 5 tons, it can carry large amounts of cargo. With a cruising altitude of 6,000 meters and a maximum payload range of 2,600 kilometers, it can carry cargo over vast areas. Its cargo hold capacity is 65 cubic meters, and it is compatible with a variety of standard containers and pallets, greatly enhancing the convenience of cargo transportation. The aircraft also provides fast, safe, convenient, and low-cost cargo transportation services. In terms of operating costs and efficiency, the cost per ton-kilometer (CTP) is over 40% lower than that of comparable manned cargo aircraft, and the transit time at civil and general aviation airports is only 15 minutes.

According to Beluga Airlines, the two parties will establish a joint working group to conduct in-depth cooperation in several key areas. These include airport adaptability modifications to ensure the smooth operation of the W5000 at various airports; determining airspace routes and air traffic control models to ensure flight safety and smoothness; promoting the integration of the aircraft into the existing logistics network to improve overall logistics efficiency; clarifying ground handling operations models; and developing storage and loading equipment.

Leiyue Express will also fully support Beluga Airlines in aircraft trial operations. During the trial period, Leiyue Express will share information on routes with real cargo value, propose specific cargo requirements, and conduct real-world cargo operations. The company will also provide Beluga Airlines with timely feedback on the trial operation, helping them optimize product performance and reliability, and accelerate the market promotion and application of unmanned cargo aircraft. Kuayue Express announced plans to deploy its first batch of 60 large unmanned cargo aircraft primarily in East and South China. These two regions, with their strong economic performance and high population density, are well-suited to the low-altitude economy. They can fully meet the demands of developed manufacturing and real economies for high-efficiency, high-frequency air logistics, effectively addressing the pain points of peak cargo volumes during peak seasons.

This strategic partnership between Kuayue Express and White Whale Airlines represents a deep integration of technology and logistics and is expected to reshape the logistics industry landscape and propel the low-altitude economy into a new stage of development.
