Civil Aviation Resources Network, August 19, 2025:According to Qingdao Airport's official WeChat account, on August 17, Shandong Airlines flight SC2405 departed Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport for Tokyo, Japan, carrying 18.3 tons of cargo. This marked the continued expansion of cargo routes between Qingdao and Tokyo, further solidifying Qingdao Airport's strategic position as a bridgehead for air cargo services to Japan and South Korea.
This newly added route, operated by a Boeing 737-800 freighter, primarily serves the transportation needs of high-value-added, time-sensitive goods, such as cross-border e-commerce and high-end manufacturing, in Qingdao and surrounding areas. This effectively enhances air cargo capacity between Qingdao and Japan's core market, providing a more convenient and efficient air link for trade between China and Japan. In recent years, Qingdao Airport has focused on building an international air cargo hub, continuously expanding and improving its international cargo route network, particularly increasing the frequency of routes to neighboring countries and regions such as Japan and South Korea. Currently, six routes operate regularly, with approximately 30 flights per week. Cargo transported primarily consists of e-commerce goods, general air cargo, and commercial express delivery, with approximately 30,000 tons of cargo volume from January to July.
Going forward, Qingdao Airport will continue to deepen its collaboration with domestic and international airlines and logistics companies, actively develop more international cargo routes, optimize its route network, enhance port support capabilities and service efficiency, and contribute to the high-quality development of the regional economy.
