While reviewing IATA reports recently, I came across a striking set of statistics: Latest figures show China's exports of cloud computing equipment surged 114.4% year-on-year in January–May this year, and exports of semiconductor equipment rose by 91.5%. IATA forecasts that global air cargo revenue will reach USD 162 billion in 2026.
AI-related goods account for merely 7% of total air cargo volume, yet they generate more than half of global air freight value.
In other words, the core growth engine of air cargo is shifting from high-volume cross-border e-commerce shipments to high-value AI hardware.
What does this transformation mean for the ULD industry? High-value cargo brings new transportation requirements: shock resistance, constant temperature control, precise cargo securing are rapidly becoming standard features for premium ULD products.
As the industry evolves, our products must evolve alongside it.
