On September 26, 2025, Haikou Meilan International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Meilan Airport), a subsidiary of Hainan Holdings, officially launched the Haikou-Jakarta route. In addition to the existing Hangzhou-Haikou-Jakarta route, flights from Haikou to Jakarta will be increased to eight flights per week. This will not only provide greater convenience for passengers planning outbound travel during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, but will also provide more intensive transportation support for trade, industrial collaboration, and tourism consumption between the Hainan Free Trade Port and Southeast Asian countries.
The route is reportedly operated by Hainan Airlines using B737 aircraft, with one flight each on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Outbound flight HU701 departs Haikou at 2:50 PM Beijing time and arrives at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 6:10 PM local time. The return flight HU702 departs Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 7:15 PM local time and lands in Haikou at 12:35 AM Beijing time the following day.
