Xinjiang's First Cargo Route To London Opened

Dec 16, 2024

Civil Aviation Resources Network, December 15, 2024: According to China News Service, a flight carrying 50 tons of cross-border e-commerce export department store goods flew from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport to London, UK on the 14th, marking the official opening of the Urumqi-London round-trip cargo route. This is Xinjiang's first cargo route to London.
In recent years, Xinjiang's cross-border e-commerce business has flourished, providing airlines with sufficient supply guarantees for opening Urumqi-London cargo routes. The opening of the above-mentioned direct cargo routes will reduce corporate operating costs and provide more efficient logistics services for Xinjiang's economic and trade cooperation with Western European countries and regions.
"We have set up a service guarantee working group to provide facilitation measures such as "inspection upon arrival" to ensure efficient and rapid inspection and release." Zhao Beijing, chief of the customs supervision section of Urumqi Diwopu Airport, said that by optimizing the supervision process of cargo flights and cross-border e-commerce goods, the flight time in port can be effectively shortened and the overall logistics timeliness can be improved.
So far, Urumqi Diwopu International Airport has opened 14 international cargo routes, including 7 routes to Europe, with the main import commodities being instruments and pine nuts, and the main export commodities being shoes, boots, clothing, etc.
